We are seeking a dedicated and proactive School Support Officer to join our client in the Wigan area to provide all-round support across Pastoral, Attendance and SEND functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administration skills and a passion for supporting pupils and families within an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pastoral Support
    • Supporting students’ wellbeing and day-to-day pastoral needs
    • Liaising with parents/carers, staff and external agencies
    • Assisting with behaviour support, safeguarding processes and student engagement
  • Attendance
    • Monitoring daily attendance and punctuality
    • Following up on absences and supporting attendance improvement strategies
    • Maintaining accurate attendance records and reports
  • SEND Support
    • Providing administrative support for SEND provision
    • Assisting with EHCP paperwork, reviews and meetings
    • Supporting SENDCo with documentation, communication and record-keeping
  • Administration
    • General school administration duties as required
    • Managing emails, correspondence and data systems
    • Supporting the wider school office and leadership team

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Enhanced DBS
  • Strong all-round administration skills
  • Experience working within an education setting (highly desirable)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A caring, professional and flexible approach
