We're working with a well‐established organisation to recruit an experienced HR & Payroll Officer to join their busy HR function. This is a hands‐on, varied role supporting the full employee lifecycle, alongside end‐to‐end payroll and pensions administration.
The role
You'll provide professional, compliant HR and payroll support across the business, acting as a trusted officer to managers and employees. This role suits someone who enjoys balancing employee relations, HR operations and payroll accuracy in a fast‐paced environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing recruitment administration from advert to offer, including compliance and safeguarding checks
- Providing advice on employee relations matters such as absence, disciplinary, grievance and performance management
- Supporting managers with HR policies, procedures and employment legislation
- Maintaining accurate HR records and databases in line with GDPR
- Acting as a key contact for maternity, paternity, flexible working and wellbeing matters
- Preparing and processing payroll, liaising with external payroll providers
- Managing payroll queries, starters, leavers and statutory payments
- Administering pensions schemes and acting as main liaison with pension providers
- Producing HR and payroll reports and statutory returns
About you
- Proven experience in a generalist HR role with payroll responsibility
- Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
- Confident handling employee relations casework
- Experience working with payroll bureaus and pension schemes
- Highly organised, discreet and comfortable working with confidential data
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Hours
8.30am-4.30pm - Monday to Friday
