An established law firm based in Wigan is looking to appoint an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to support their busy conveyancing department.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working within a conveyancing environment and be confident in providing efficient, accurate and professional support throughout the conveyancing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing quotes and responding to client queries
- Providing regular updates to clients and relevant parties on the progress of matters
- Opening and closing files and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed
- Carrying out online property searches
- Undertaking Land Registry searches and applications
- Ordering copies of leases, title plans and other property documentation
- Assisting with Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) matters and preparing relevant documentation
- Preparing client bills and invoices
- General administrative support to the conveyancing team
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring files are kept up to date
- Working efficiently to meet deadlines and providing a high standard of client service
- Providing reception cover when required, including answering calls and welcoming visitors
About You
- Previous experience in conveyancing is essential
- Good knowledge of the residential conveyancing process
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident communicating with clients, solicitors and other professionals
- Able to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively
- Professional, approachable and reliable
- Good IT and administrative skills
- A positive team player with a proactive approach to your work
