We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a school setting in Southport.

Position details

  • Role: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEN)
  • Location: Southport (applicants must live locally)
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30
  • Availability: 5 days per week
  • Start: As soon as possible

Key requirements

  • Proven experience working with children with SEN
  • Able to commit to full-time hours during the school week
  • Living locally to Southport with no travel restrictions
  • Patient, reliable, and committed to supporting pupil progress
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN throughout the school day
  • Support learning activities as directed by the class teacher and SENCO
  • Assist with emotional, social, and behavioural development
  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
  • Monitor and record progress, feeding back to teaching staff
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the pupil at all times
  • Support with personal care where required (if applicable)
