We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a school setting in Southport.
Position details
- Role: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEN)
- Location: Southport (applicants must live locally)
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30
- Availability: 5 days per week
- Start: As soon as possible
Key requirements
- Proven experience working with children with SEN
- Able to commit to full-time hours during the school week
- Living locally to Southport with no travel restrictions
- Patient, reliable, and committed to supporting pupil progress
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Key duties and responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN throughout the school day
- Support learning activities as directed by the class teacher and SENCO
- Assist with emotional, social, and behavioural development
- Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
- Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Monitor and record progress, feeding back to teaching staff
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the pupil at all times
- Support with personal care where required (if applicable)
