Our client is seeking an experienced School Finance Officer to support their finance function within a busy educational setting. The successful candidate will have proven experience working within a school environment and be confident managing a range of finance and bursary-related responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who understands the unique requirements of the education sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the day-to-day financial administration of the school
  • Processing purchase orders, invoices, payments, and reconciliations
  • Supporting budget monitoring and assisting with financial reporting
  • Administering bursary and funding processes, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance
  • Maintaining pupil finance records and managing fee-related queries where applicable
  • Liaising with staff, parents, suppliers, and external stakeholders regarding financial matters
  • Supporting month-end and year-end finance processes
  • Ensuring financial procedures are followed in line with school policies and statutory requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a school, college, or educational setting within a finance focused role
  • Experience administering bursaries, grants, or educational funding will prove a strong advantage
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and systems
  • Enhanced DBS certificate
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

Desirable:

  • AAT qualification or equivalent finance qualification
  • Experience using school finance systems such as SIMS, FMS, Arbor, or PS Financials
  • Knowledge of school funding regulations and education sector finance procedures
