Our client is seeking an experienced School Finance Officer to support their finance function within a busy educational setting. The successful candidate will have proven experience working within a school environment and be confident managing a range of finance and bursary-related responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who understands the unique requirements of the education sector.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the day-to-day financial administration of the school
- Processing purchase orders, invoices, payments, and reconciliations
- Supporting budget monitoring and assisting with financial reporting
- Administering bursary and funding processes, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance
- Maintaining pupil finance records and managing fee-related queries where applicable
- Liaising with staff, parents, suppliers, and external stakeholders regarding financial matters
- Supporting month-end and year-end finance processes
- Ensuring financial procedures are followed in line with school policies and statutory requirements
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a school, college, or educational setting within a finance focused role
- Experience administering bursaries, grants, or educational funding will prove a strong advantage
- Strong understanding of financial processes and systems
- Enhanced DBS certificate
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
Desirable:
- AAT qualification or equivalent finance qualification
- Experience using school finance systems such as SIMS, FMS, Arbor, or PS Financials
- Knowledge of school funding regulations and education sector finance procedures
