Accounting & Tax Associate - Manchester City Centre - Perm
Salary: £25,000 to £32,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Working Hours: 5 days per week 7 hours per day (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including 1-hour lunch break)
About the Role
We are seeking an Accounting & Tax Associate to join our Manchester City Centre office. In this role, you will:
- Report to Senior Associates, Client Managers, and Partners
- Support the preparation of accounts, bookkeeping, VAT, Corporation Tax, and Self-Assessment Tax Returns
- Work under supervision to ensure the delivery of high-quality accounting and tax services to clients
- Be part of a team of approximately 20 staff
- Develop your technical skills and progress your career in a supportive environment
Key Duties
- Prepare accounts for clients
- Complete Corporation Tax computations and returns
- Prepare VAT returns
- Perform bookkeeping tasks
- Handle company secretarial duties
- Prepare Self-Assessment Tax Returns for individuals and partnerships
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accountancy practice (preferred)
- High accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage time and meet deadlines under guidance
- Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
- Knowledge of CCH is preferable but not essential
- Ability to perform basic technical tasks, apply common sense, and understand core accounting concepts
