At Formula, we're looking for an intern to work in our Process Engineering Team, to assist with data collection, developing projects, communications and progressing reactive tasks, and proactive works. You'll get hands-on experience working within our busy manufacturing operation, enabling you to develop your technical skills and directly support the team's production and quality goals.
This Process Engineering intern will be a part of the Process Engineering team which is a small multi-disciplined team of engineers. We collaborate with the wider site teams and senior management in order to identify opportunities for process improvements and would welcome our intern to bring fresh ideas and new ways of thinking.
This is a site-based role, working Monday to Friday 8am-4pm, so you must live within a commutable distance of our facility in Newark on Trent. What we're looking for:
- A current Undergraduate studying Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Thorough and detail-driven work ethic
- Ability to analyse data and draw meaningful conclusions
- A teamwork mentality and ability to collaborate effectively
- Ability to communicate technical concepts and bring data to life for your stakeholders
- Previous work experience in a manufacturing setting and mechanical knowledge/understanding would be an advantage
- A curious mindset with an ability to identify opportunities for improvements
- Someone proactive who is equally as comfortable with strategic planning as well as being hands-on
What you'll be doing:
- Act as an ambassador for H&S, carry out risk assessments before performing tasks and challenge and report risks and unsafe behaviours
- Assist team on developing systems to collect and monitor, and analyse data
- You'll be an active member of Process and Engineering investigations on reactive issues and breakdown to address problems and assist root cause analysis activities
- Assist our WCM (World Class Manufacturing) facilitator in recording the minutes in the Pillar development meetings and communicate to the relevant parties.
- Liaise with external suppliers and contractors as required through projects
- Collaborate with process engineers and control engineers on projects and reactive works
- Update daily, weekly and monthly KPIs on Team improvement boards (Including project boards, pillar boards and central systems)
