A specialist technology company is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a 3-month contract to build out a scalable job orchestration and results platform across an existing compute cluster and customer-facing API.

Key Responsibilities as a DevOps Engineer:

  • Extend Slurm cluster job scheduling via Docker and test AWS expansion
  • Design and implement a big data storage layer for optimisation outputs (MongoDB or S3-backed)
  • Integrate monitoring and logging (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
  • Extend Vue/Python dashboards and deliver IaC templates with full documentation

Big data database design: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Hadoop/S3

Python/Flask for API development

Contract Details:

  • Day Rate: Up to £300.00 per day Outside IR35
  • Contract Length: 3 months
  • North of England preferred, hybrid
  • Start Date: ASAP
