They are looking for an individual with a unique blend of Data Modelling and Data Analysis expertise, supported by a strong foundational understanding of architecture. You’ll be responsible for building and shaping the core data architecture suite, working closely with data architects and analytics teams to understand enterprise‑wide consumption needs and translate them into high‑quality physical data models. You’ll bring strong knowledge of both AI‑driven data design and traditional modelling semantics, balancing business strategy with technical detail.
Responsibilities as a Lead Data Modeller:
- Design and own the Cross-Group Data Model.
- Act as the internal consultant for report makers across the business.
- Implement and own the Data Catalogue using Databricks Unity.
- Act as the direct Line Manager for Data Analysts.
- Map the "As-Is" data flows.
Key Requirements:
- ~5–8 years of experience in data modelling or data architecture, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- ~ Strong Dimensional Modelling skills (Kimball).
- ~ Solid experience with Databricks Unity Catalog and Microsoft Fabric/Purview.
- ~ Advanced Power BI (DAX/modelling) and Excel capability to effectively support report creators.
- ~ Proven ability to build a semantic layer from scratch in a complex, multi‑site environment.
