We are working with a large, highly respected UK organisation that is bringing its product and technology functions together under one roof. They are looking for an Interim Transformation Director to shape how the whole function plans, delivers and reports, over a 6 month engagement.

This is a genuinely meaty transformation challenge. Today, delivery is built around team level agile, with plenty of good work happening but little cohesion across the function. The ambition is to move to portfolio and workstream delivery with reportable budgets, timelines and status, and to embed the governance that lets leadership run the business with real clarity ahead of a major platform launch. This isn't a product ownership role, it's about designing how the business runs.

What you will own:

  • Supporting the redesign of product and engineering delivery, moving from agile build to portfolio and workstream delivery
  • Setting up monthly and quarterly business reviews across the function, and the review cycles that sit underneath them
  • Building governance, planning and review frameworks, codified into a methodology the leadership team adopts as the way the business runs
  • Overseeing and enabling the project and programme management function responsible for delivery and governance
  • Working alongside the CTO and CPO, reporting into the COO, with the credibility to challenge and push back where needed

What they are looking for:

  • Proven track record as a senior transformation, portfolio or programme director within a large enterprise
  • Experience setting up governance and business review frameworks from scratch, not just running existing ones
  • Comfortable in regulated, controlled environments where spend and delivery are closely scrutinised, with banking, financial services and other regulated sectors very welcome
  • Experience bringing structure to agile product and engineering organisations
  • The presence to operate confidently just below C-suite, bringing together strong minded senior stakeholders
  • Available to start within 2 to 4 weeks

Due to the volume of applications we are unable to provide individual feedback on every submission.
