A major financial services business is looking for a Business Analyst or Product Owner with deep experience in payment systems to join a greenfield platform transformation in Canary Wharf.
Contract Details
- Day Rate: £550 - £700 (Inside IR35)
- Contract Length: Initial engagement, ongoing programme
- Location: Canary Wharf, London (3 days per week on‑site)
- Start Date: ASAP
This is a rare opportunity to join a payments programme at the very beginning. The platform is being rebuilt from the ground up, backed by external investment, targeting SMEs across POS and e‑commerce, and moving fast. Six months of product vision already exists in Confluence. What's missing is someone who can take that vision and turn it into something engineering can actually build. That's where you come in.
You will own BA and product coverage across three value streams from day one, working in a blended delivery model alongside a client team that is scaling quickly. This isn't a role for someone who needs a polished process to operate within; it's for someone who builds the process.
What You'll Be Doing
- Taking six months of Confluence documentation and turning it into sprint‑ready, engineering‑grade backlogs
- Writing and owning user stories across three concurrent value streams without losing depth or quality
- Bringing structure to ambitious, complex requirements in an environment that is still taking shape
- Helping establish how product and BA work gets done as the programme matures
- Managing stakeholders across technical and non‑technical audiences, client team, engineers, and programme leadership
- Coaching and upskilling client‑side colleagues who are earlier in their product journey
- Keeping pace as the programme accelerates and scope grows
What We're Looking For
- A strong BA or Product Owner with a hands‑on backlog focus, someone who writes stories, not just facilitates workshops
- Proven experience in payments, fintech, or payment gateway environments
- Comfortable translating large volumes of complex documentation into clear, deliverable requirements
- Experience working in consulting, blended delivery, or transformation programmes
- Confident operating in ambiguity and building structure where little exists
- Solid stakeholder management — able to hold their own in a room with senior technical and business leaders
- Banking or regulated environment experience essential
- Available immediately or on short notice
If this sounds like the kind of programme you want to be part of, don't wait, roles like this move quickly and so do we.
