We are looking for a hands-on Tech Lead with strong experience in the JVM ecosystem to help lead and grow one of their high-performing product engineering teams. This Tech Lead position is a leadership opportunity to shape architecture, guide engineering practices, and collaborate closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver impact at scale.
Responsibilities as a Tech Lead:
- Take ownership of system design, architecture, and implementation of key backend services
- Guide and mentor engineers across a cross-functional team
- Work closely with product managers and business stakeholders to align technical direction with strategic goals
- Write high-quality, production-ready code using Kotlin or Java
- Lead by example through code reviews, architectural decisions, and continuous delivery practices
- Drive improvements in engineering practices, tooling, and team workflows
- Help scale backend infrastructure to meet growing product demands
Key Requirements:
- Strong commercial experience in the JVM ecosystem for backend development
- Confidence to work with Spring Boot or Ktor to build robust microservices
- Strong ability to write secure, resilient, and well-tested code
- Ability to align engineering to ambitious commercial objectives
- Experience in line management responsibilities while remaining deeply technical
- Desire for building API-first products
- Deep understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and test-driven development
