Senior AI Business Analyst - AI Practice Transformation London (Hybrid - 2 days a week in office) | Permanent | 85,000-100,000 + benefits About the company My client is a private equity-backed legal services group that brings together six regional law firms across England onto one platform.

Each firm keeps its own brand and culture.

The group has around 800 fee earners, 166m in revenue and roughly 30 offices nationwide, and it’s growing quickly.

Its focus is regional, SME and consumer law rather than London corporate work.

The big strategic bet is AI.

Around 70% of legal work is repeatable, but today each practitioner learns it individually.

The group’s lawyer-led AI programme, Project Edge, is an 18-month funded initiative to change that by embedding AI and automation into how legal services are actually delivered, with measurable results.

The role This is a brand-new role.

You’ll be one of the people turning AI ambition into practice.

You’ll work closely with lawyers and other SMEs to understand how they really work: their processes, systems and habits.

Then you’ll identify where automation and AI can make a measurable difference, and work with data science and engineering colleagues to design, test, implement and monitor those changes until they’re in lawyers’ hands and delivering value.

This is evidence-led change, not process mapping that ends up on a shelf.

What you’ll be doing Mapping current-state, end-to-end legal workflows (e. g. conveyancing) with SMEs, and finding the bottlenecks and repetitive tasks Designing enhanced, AI-enabled workflows with clear human-in-the-loop checkpoints Helping data science validate use cases through short experiments tied to metrics Converting use cases into technical requirements, then prioritising and planning delivery with engineering Helping to define baselines, before-and-after measurement and cost-to-run metrics Reducing “transition friction” for lawyers as they adopt new tools, and co-owning user feedback mechanisms Monitoring post-implementation performance and recommending fixes where quality slips Contributing to compliance, information security and responsible AI practices Supporting the Head of Edge Delivery with planning and project organisation in the early stages What you’ll bring5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst.

Legal sector experience is strongly preferred Strong workflow and process mapping skills (e. g.

Lucid), working directly with SMEs Examples of process improvement projects where automation or AI has been used The ability to turn complex workflows into testable proposals, and explain trade-offs clearly to senior, non-technical audiences Strong data literacy, including an understanding of taxonomies and measurement Awareness of confidentiality, privilege and data protection when applying AI to client data Experience working in agile teams Confidence using AI tools to speed up your own analysis and prototyping The autonomy and judgement to shape a new role Nice to have Experience with legal practice management systems and tools (Clio, Share Do, Aderant, Lexis Protégé, Jylo, Copilot)Exposure to building or evaluating LLM-based solutions (prompt design, RAG, human-in-the-loop review, LLM-as-Judge)Experience in a PE-backed or investor-owned business Experience defining success metrics, dashboards or paths to production Some project management experience Working pattern Hybrid, with 2 days a week in the Central London office.

You’ll also travel to the regional firms: weekly for the first month, then around twice a month.

Travel days count as office days, and travel and accommodation are covered.

Why apply? You’ll be at the centre of how a whole legal business evolves, in a multidisciplinary team, at a time when AI is moving from experiment to everyday practice in law.
