We're working with a fast-growing, data-driven performance marketing business operating in regulated, high-growth sectors. Its in-house tech and full-stack analytics sit at the heart of everything it does, and it's now building a new data warehouse to bring its acquired businesses together and lay the foundations for its AI plans. The Data Architect joining now will set the design principles for the platform and own its architecture, staying hands-on while leading a small team of data engineers.
Responsibilities as a Data Architect:
- Own the target architecture for the new data warehouse and act as design authority for every build that lands in it
- Set the approach to customer identity, PII, consent, data classification, retention and access controls
- Lead the migration of an acquired business into the warehouse and single customer view, then make it a repeatable pattern
- Define modelling, governance and data quality standards, and review work against them before it ships
- Prototype pipelines, unblock engineers and lead a small data engineering team
- Work with Tech, Analytics and commercial teams so the platform is ready for AI
Requirements:
- Data architecture experience, with a warehouse or lakehouse you designed running in production
- Hands-on SQL and Python, with the ability to build and debug pipelines yourself
- Strong understanding of PII, privacy and access control across identifiable and pseudonymous data
- Deep knowledge of big data platforms, ETL and ELT patterns and governance frameworks
- Experience consolidating acquired businesses or legacy platforms into a single data model
Benefits:
- Company bonus scheme
- Private healthcare and travel insurance
- Paid-for AI subscription (Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini)
- Market-leading training programme
- Annual company conference and regular team socials
This is a rare chance to step in as Data Architect and own a new data platform from the ground up. If you're a Data Architect who still enjoys building as much as designing, we'd like to hear from you.
