We are looking for a Systems Administrator to join our IT team at Formula 1's Media & Technology Centre in Biggin Hill. Reporting into our IT Systems Manager, this role will ensure Formula 1’s IT Systems are correctly commissioned, maintained and operated so that it continues to meet Formula 1’s on-going Business and production objectives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Upgrading, installing and maintaining our physical and virtual server infrastructure.
- Creating and maintaining documents for IT systems and assist building on the documentation process within the department.
- To drive innovation in IT, reviewing current technology offerings and identifying improvements within department responsibilities.
- Manage projects through lifecycle, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders engaged throughout.
- Implementing new solutions and providing training to other technology teams including full documentation and walkthroughs.
- To make appropriate changes and additions to the IT Systems infrastructure within Change management processes and SOX controls.
- To respond in a flexible and adaptive manner to supporting business requirements, when ad hoc requests are made.
- Monitoring system performance to ensure maximum uptime and maintain the IT Systems for the IT Infrastructure department across fixed sites, cloud and at Grand Prix events.
- To manage and comply with backup and disaster recovery plans for the IT Systems.
- Troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software issues from a helpdesk and ensuring these are managed through our incident management processes.
- Implementing security measures, performing security tests and ensuring system integrity to maintain a secure IT operating environment for the business.
- To produce root cause analysis reports in case of failures and issues and work alongside problem management processes.
- To provide user support as necessary within the organisation, and act as point of escalation for other technology teams.
- To be available to work on IT systems outside of usual ‘Business Hours’, both planned and unplanned.
- Travel when required to Formula 1’s business sites and partners premises.
- To keep abreast of developments in the IT Industry and consider proactively how these may be incorporated into the IT Systems Infrastructure.
Other
- Weekend cover to remotely support Formula 1 events.
- To complete all mandatory training within specified timelines.
- To undertake other duties within your capabilities as your Manager or Director may assign to you from time to time.
- Ensure compliance with SOX and GDPR regulations and IT Infrastructure Knowledge and understanding of ISO12001 and ITIL frameworks.

Experience
Prior to the role it would be essential that you have:
- Essential Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite and Azure Active Directory.
- Experience supporting Power Apps, Power Automate and Copilot Studio including designing, coding and implementing.
- Understanding of SAML, SSO, PAM, IAM, Active Roles, AD and Entra ID.
- Knowledge supporting and managing SQL databases.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Server, Linux and Mac OS systems.
- Knowledge and supporting Azure Logic Apps.
- Operational knowledge of a wide range of device management tools.
- Experience with Virtualisation and Cloud based solutions such as VMWare, Hyper‑V, Nutanix.
- Good customer service, communication and team working skills.
Some desirable experience that you may bring to the role:
- Experience working in a global organisation across different time zones.
- Experience working within the sports/entertainment industries and working with major events.
Qualifications
You will need to have a current UK driving license in this role. Not essential to be successful in the role but you may also have the following qualifications:
- Degree, HND/C in IT related Subject or Industry recognised.
- Certifications in relevant subject categories.
