Senior Security Coordinator – Formula 1
Report to Security Operations Lead and coordinate the planning, implementation and delivery of security measures for Formula 1 events.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of GP and non‑GP events by obtaining required race and event documentation from promoters in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Ensure security documentation received during the lead‑up to the Grand Prix weekend is fit for purpose and aligns with the F1 Safety & Security Framework.
- Assist in communicating the safety framework to new promoters, supporting briefings, providing guidance and addressing queries.
- Engage in pre‑race planning, attending regular meetings with promoters to review Grand Prix security plans.
- Maintain a global network of trusted law enforcement, intelligence and private security contacts and facilitate threat sharing.
- Develop comprehensive security briefing documents, including risk analyses, mitigation measures and localisation to each event.
- Distribute security briefs, incident management plans and evacuation plans to stakeholders across the F1 ecosystem.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy and actionable insight in all briefing documents.
- Ensure security measures are in place for staff travelling to and operating within race locations.
- Log security concerns, responses and mitigation in the incident log software, escalating high‑risk issues in a controlled manner.
- Collaborate with Security Manager(s) to compile structured post‑event feedback, identifying issues, trends and improvement actions.
- Partner with promoters to implement corrective actions and embed lessons learned.
Qualifications
- Background within the security industry and relevant further education qualifications.
- Experience delivering effective security programmes with a focus on customer‑facing outcomes.
- Experience in physical security, personnel protection, security technologies and crisis & incident response.
- Experience in social media and data security matters, intrusion detection, crime prevention and investigations.
- Experience working with data streams and scaling enterprise services for large audiences.
- Degree or other higher education in Public Security, Police Science or Law Enforcement (desirable).
