Red Bull Powertrains have exciting opportunities for undergraduate students to spend a year as part of our Simulation team. The placements will run from July 2026 for one year and offer the opportunity to demonstrate your enthusiasm and apply your knowledge in an open and dynamic environment. Based at our Milton Keynes campus, this PU System Simulation placement is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a high‑performance engineering environment. The role is designed to help you build confidence and develop key skills such as lap time simulation, optimization, problem solving, teamwork, communication, and technical understanding while learning from experienced engineers.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenance of system‑level lap time simulation models and optimization tools
- Help compare and validate simulation results with data from track tests and test rigs
- Work alongside performance and engineering teams to investigate issues and support solutions
- Assist with creating simple automated tools and processes to improve simulation efficiency
- Take part in testing and validating driver‑in‑the‑loop and real‑time simulation models
- Contribute to simulation and analysis support during test sessions and events
Qualifications
- Studying an Engineering, Science or Mathematic degree
- Have excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Have experience with a scientific programming language (e.g. Matlab, Simulink, Dymola or Python)
- Possess good grasp of physics and dynamics
