Formula E, the world's fastest-growing sport, is redefining motorsport with a bold focus on innovation and sustainability. Hosting over 100 races in iconic cities globally and backed by top manufacturers like Porsche and Jaguar, we feature elite drivers and cutting-edge EV technology. As the world's first sport certified Net Zero Carbon from inception, Formula E combines thrilling entertainment with a mission to advance sustainable progress, inspiring a global fanbase with our high-performance brand new GEN3 EVO race car capable of 0-60mph in 1.82 seconds (0-100kph in 1.86s). Using the spectacle of sport, we are sending a powerful and meaningful message to help alter perceptions and speed-up the switch to electric mobility.
The Role
Are you a high-velocity media expert ready to bridge the gap between trackside action and a global audience of millions? We are looking for a Media Asset Coordinator to join the Formula E Broadcast team. This isn’t just about managing files; it’s about technical orchestration, real-time distribution and the digital architecture of a world-first electric racing series. Reporting to the Post Production Manager, you will be the custodian of our digital legacy. As we charge into Season 13 and the Gen 4 era, you will move beyond simple storage, using cutting-edge platforms like Mimir and high-speed protocols like Aspera to build a lightning-fast, automated distribution engine that services our global broadcasters, racing teams like Jaguar and Porsche and the FIA.
On-Site Asset Command & Ingest:
You will lead the "ground game" during race weekends, managing the end-to-end workflow for video rushes. From the moment a car crosses the finish line, you ensure raw footage is ingested, logged and organised with 100% metadata accuracy, turning "raw data" into "broadcast-ready gold" in seconds.
High-Priority Global Distribution:
You are the primary technical pulse point for our international partners. Under the extreme pressure of race-day deadlines, you will rapidly deliver approved highlight packages and themed content to a global network, ensuring our teams and commercial partners have the assets they need the moment they need them.
Technical Ecosystem & Archive Ownership:
You will own the day-to-day operation of our Digital Asset Management (DAM) system. Between races, you transition from "sprint" to "marathon," maintaining our long-term archival strategy and optimising the "flyaway" technical kits, including storage, connectivity and Linux-based hardware, that allow us to broadcast from the heart of the world's most iconic cities.
What we’re looking for in you
- The Technical Troubleshooter: You don’t just use software; you understand the infrastructure behind it. With a solid grasp of video codecs, metadata taxonomy and high-speed transfer tools (Aspera/Signiant), you can fix a corrupted upload or a network bottleneck under the heat of a live broadcast window. A working knowledge of Linux is your secret weapon.
- The Live Production "Road Warrior": With 1–3 years of experience in high-tier sports or entertainment, you thrive in "quick-turnaround" environments. You are ready to embrace a global lifestyle, traveling to 16+ international locations per year and maintaining peak performance whether you’re in a high-tech studio or a temporary paddock tent.
- The Meticulous Archivist: You possess a natural obsession for order. You understand that a file is only as good as its tags, and you take pride in ensuring every frame of Formula E history is correctly archived and instantly searchable. You stay calm and decisive when multiple stakeholders are demanding assets simultaneously.
- The Collaborative Liaison: You are a master of "technical translation." You can bridge the gap between creative camera crews and technical broadcast engineers, communicating complex requirements with clarity and a proactive, "can-do" spirit that fits our high-energy, elite sporting culture.
What’s in it for you?
- 25 days’ annual leave, Birthday day off and Wellbeing leave
- Opportunity to extend your stay if travelling for a race event
- Health Cash Plan and access to the Aviva Digital Workplace app
- Enhanced Parental Leave
- Flexible Bank Holidays
- Paid volunteer and carer’s leave
- Cycle to Work and Electric Car Scheme
- Formula E store discount
- Regular social events and employee working groups
This is a hybrid role and you’ll be required to do 3 days a week in our Hammersmith London office.
