We are looking for a Senior Broadcast Services Coordinator to join our Media Engineering team for a 13‑month fixed‑term role. You will coordinate the delivery of International TV Compound facilities and operations for F1’s Rights Holding Broadcasters, working closely with thousands of colleagues to create unforgettable races.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning and Preparation
    • Collaborate with international broadcasters to collect and validate technical and operational requirements.
    • Support the planning and design of the International Broadcast Compound (IBC) layout, facilities, and supporting infrastructure.
    • Work with circuits and promoters to confirm the availability of essential services, including power, connectivity, and structural installations.
    • Coordinate suppliers, freight partners, and technical vendors during pre‑event planning cycles.
  • Event Delivery
    • Attend designated races to support on‑site broadcaster operations within the IBC, commentary booths, and antenna farms.
    • Oversee broadcast services when host broadcasters provide infrastructure.
    • Act as an operational liaison between broadcasters and internal departments such as Paddock Management, Production, and Engineering.
    • Ensure Health & Safety standards are implemented and upheld across all IBC facilities.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Produce race‑by‑race documentation for accredited broadcasters, ensuring clarity and accuracy for both planning and on‑site logistics.
    • Assist in creating and maintaining technical and logistical manuals, including the Host Broadcaster Operations Manual and General Specification Manual.
    • Document process updates, operational workflows, and incidents with accuracy, capturing lessons learned and future mitigations.
  • Cross‑Functional Coordination
    • Plan and implement critical broadcast facilities such as cabling routes, antenna positions, commentary booths, and power distribution.
    • Collaborate with circuit engineering and new circuits to ensure readiness of all broadcaster‑facing facilities.
    • Facilitate freight movement and technical operations on‑site with logistics partners.

What Are We Looking For?

Experience

  • Proven experience in large‑scale sports or live broadcast environments.
  • Practical involvement in event planning, field operations, or technical delivery.
  • Experience supporting external clients or media partners in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Some desirable experience that you may bring to the role:
    • Experience within international events or touring broadcast operations.
    • Experience coordinating cross‑functional technical projects.
    • Exposure to infrastructure planning, broadcast compound operations, or facility design.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Basic knowledge of live broadcast operations and broadcaster requirements.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills to coordinate IBC layouts, broadcaster needs, event logistics, and documentation with accuracy.
  • Clear and confident communication skills for liaising with broadcasters, circuits, promoters, suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Ability to produce accurate technical and operational documentation, capturing workflows, updates, incidents, and mitigations clearly.

Qualifications

It is desirable, but not essential, to have a current UK driving licence in this role. Additional qualifications may include:

  • Formal training or certification in broadcast operations, media technology, live events or similar.
  • AutoCAD or technical drawing training.
  • Health & Safety training such as IOSH or equivalent.
  • Project‑management certification or relevant coursework.
