We are recruiting for a Sea Freight Coordinator to join our Stock Control and Distribution team based at our Biggin Hill office.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and facilitate the transport and distribution of company equipment worldwide, including hazardous goods, in compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
- Operate plant, including forklifts, as required and when qualified.
- Accurately prepare shipping documentation and declarations as needed.
- Act as a point of contact for sea freight enquiries and requirements.
- Liaise with logistics partners, providers, and regulatory bodies, maintaining positive relationships.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s Known Consignor Security Program and Security policies.
- Contribute to and prepare reports related to freight and sustainability.
- Maintain awareness of freight legislation, investigating shipping options to meet targets while ensuring compliance.
- Contribute to the development and updating of internal systems related to freight, distribution, stock control, and asset tracking.
- Assist in logistics planning and budget preparation.
- Monitor and report on work undertaken, updating the Head of Department regularly.
- Ensure all work is performed safely, following best practices and H&S protocols.
Experience & Specification Essentials:
- Dangerous Goods Awareness certification.
- Experience in logistics, focusing on sea freight.
- Knowledge of import and export documentation, including ATA Carnets.
