Are you ready to make your mark in the world of Formula 1? At Formula 1, we are passionate about delivering the world's greatest sports and entertainment spectacle leaving a positive legacy wherever we race. Innovation has always been at the heart of what we do ever since our first Grand Prix in 1950. Now, 75 years on, the sport remains a pioneer, developing technologies that have made a significant impact on society beyond the track.

We are seeking a detail‐oriented Business Analyst to bridge business needs and technology solutions, ensuring accurate and actionable requirements throughout the project lifecycle. In this role, you will work with stakeholders from various areas of the business to collect functional and data requirements, and coordinate with technical architects to gather and document technical requirements, for both new and existing systems and applications.

You will bridge business needs and technology by gathering, analysing, and documenting requirements to deliver effective solutions that optimise processes and support organisational goals. You will work closely with: Project and Programme Management, Business Stakeholders and Functional Leads, Technical Architects, SMEs, Partners and Suppliers (3rd Parties).

Key Responsibilities
  • Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to capture functional and data requirements and liaise closely with technical architects to define and enhance systems and applications. Use varied elicitation techniques during interviews, workshops, document analysis, and prototyping to ensure accurate, thorough requirements capture. Organise requirements using frameworks and modelling tools (e.g., process maps, user stories), maintaining clarity and alignment with business goals. Document and validate requirements via standard formats, facilitating stakeholder reviews for completeness and feasibility. Prioritise and maintain requirements throughout the project lifecycle to support change control. Work closely with architects, developers, testers, and project managers to ensure requirements are tracked, implemented and tested correctly. Ensure all documentation is version‐controlled, peer‐reviewed, meets F1 brand standards, and is maintained throughout the project lifecycle, supporting change management and auditability.
  • Analysis and Documentation: Create clear, structured, and comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Project Briefs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical feasibility. Contribute to the development of Business Cases, supporting delivery management with evidence‐based analysis of benefits, costs, risks, and implementation options. Map and analyse as‐is and to‐be business processes and workflows using Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) and other recognised modelling techniques to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Develop Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) to visualise and analyse data structures, relationships, and flows across systems, supporting effective data architecture and integration planning. Define and size solution requirements through the creation of detailed use cases, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria, ensuring traceability from business need to technical delivery. Produce data flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, and a variety of visual artefacts to support stakeholder understanding, solution design, and development planning. Ensure all documentation is version‐controlled, peer‐reviewed, and maintained throughout the project lifecycle, supporting change management and auditability.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the link between business stakeholders, technical teams, and delivery functions to keep solutions and their functional goals aligned to project objectives. Communicate effectively between all parties, translating needs and requirements to ensure understanding. Proactively manage stakeholder relationships, set expectations, resolve conflicts, and provide structured updates on project status and risks. Follow project governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with internal standards and processes like stage gates and change controls. Support delivery assurance by contributing to reviews and audits, making sure business analysis activities are well‐documented and traceable.
  • Solution Design: Work with both internal teams and external suppliers to define solutions that align with business and technical requirements. Verify that proposed solutions are practical, cost‐effective, and fit the organisation's strategy and technology standards. Take part in design reviews to confirm solutions meet expectations for governance, security, and scalability. Help turn solution concepts into clear specifications, maintaining traceability from business need to technical handover. Identify design risks early and collaborate with teams to resolve issues and optimise outcomes.
  • Testing and Validation: Create focused test plans and criteria to confirm solutions meet requirements. Lead and support User Acceptance Testing, ensuring solutions satisfy user needs. Document and track defects, working with teams to resolve and retest issues quickly. Maintain requirement traceability throughout the testing process. Assist with test reporting and go‐live readiness reviews.
  • Project Support: Continue supporting projects by helping resolve issues, manage risks, and adapt to changes, keeping analysis aligned with project goals. Assist with system rollouts through readiness checks, stakeholder communication, training, and post‐launch reviews. Prepare concise Project Briefs outlining objectives, scope, stakeholders, and key requirements for project initiation. Work with project managers to embed analysis deliverables into plans, logs, and governance documents for effective delivery. Track and report progress, dependencies, and deliverables to ensure transparency and traceability throughout the project.
Skills and Experience
  • Education & Certification: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. BCS or similarly recognised Business Analysis certifications (e.g. IIBA, PMI‐PBA).
  • Professional Experience: Demonstrable experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within IT, digital, marketing technology, or enterprise application settings. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross‐functional teams throughout all departments of an organisation. Experience supporting hybrid environments involving both on‐premise and cloud‐based infrastructure. Experience with AWS, Salesforce, or D365 is considered beneficial. Ability to break down complex business problems into manageable components. Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of navigating shifting priorities. Strong understanding of how technology supports business operations. Able to align requirements with business goals. Takes full ownership of the requirements lifecycle‐from elicitation to validation.
  • Personal Attributes: Open, easy, collaborative and confident communicator. Strong analytical, problem‐solving, and documentation skills. Highly organised, detail‐oriented, and able to manage multiple concurrent priorities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‐paced environment.
