We are looking for an experienced and talented Graphics Developer with motion design, broadcast graphics, and 3D animation experience to join Formula 1, who can hit the ground running and help take our production to the next level. As part of our graphics team, you will face exciting challenges, develop your skills, and help define the next era of Formula 1 broadcasting. Reporting into the Graphics Executive Producer, you will be joining a small dynamic team within the Television Production department, where you’ll be designing graphics for one of the world’s premier sporting brands and helping to deliver world-class production.
Main Duties And Responsibilities:
- Designing broadcast content from concept to delivery which will feature within the Formula 1 World Feed.
- Supporting design projects within the department, which can range from providing assets for live broadcast, animation, to building fully 3D rendered features.
- Designing and animating on-screen graphics for both real-time and post-production.
- Supporting the operation of live on-screen, virtual and augmented, and post-produced / augmented graphics for use in the live show.
- Using industry leading broadcast graphics software and hardware systems to help us enhance Formula 1’s viewing experience.
What Are We Looking For?
Knowledge & Skills:
- A clear understanding of the 3D animation pipeline including modelling, texturing, lighting, rigging, animation & rendering.
- A thorough understanding of Autodesk Maya and other 3D modelling platforms.
- Extensive knowledge of the Adobe suite with emphasis on Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
- A keen understanding of visual design and an interest in researching new ideas and concepts.
- Understand the testing and troubleshooting process.
- Great understanding of the project process, team organisation and communication.
Experience:
- Experience using Unreal Engine.
- Experience designing broadcast content and live on-screen graphics.
- Live broadcast experience.
- Experience using Viz Artist and any of Vizrt’s real-time broadcast products or other industry standard broadcast software packages.
- Prior experience working in a VR/Virtual Studio pipeline using Unreal Engine, VizRT or similar.
- Experience designing and animating 2D on-screen graphics for both real-time and post-production purposes.
Some desirable experience that you may bring to the role:
- Live broadcast experience in a sports environment.
Qualifications:
- A degree in 3D design, motion graphics, or related design field.
