We are looking for a Digital Business Analyst to join our Digital Technology team. Reporting into our Lead Analyst, this role will support the discovery, analysis and documentation of digital product and platform changes across F1, translating business goals into clear, testable requirements and artefacts in Jira and Confluence that align with F1’s architecture standards and delivery governance.
Responsibilities
- Discovery & Analysis
- Participate in discovery for new features and changes (workshops, interviews, requirements reviews). Gather, clarify and document functional and non-functional requirements in Confluence.
- Support integration of multiple requirement sets into a single, coherent scope.
- Requirements & Documentation
- Create and maintain structured artefacts such as: Business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira.
- Process and data flow diagrams, simple models and journey maps. Supporting documentation (assumptions, dependencies, open questions).
- Use existing templates and patterns to ensure consistency and reusability.
- Keep Jira–Confluence links up to date so both remain a single source of truth.
- Architecture Standards & Solution Shaping
- Apply existing F1 architecture standards and patterns when documenting solutions.
- Work with architects, engineers and senior BAs to ensure proposed changes align with platform constraints and design guidelines.
- Flag potential gaps or conflicts in solution options for review.
- Data Analysis & Modelling
- Use predefined mechanisms and tools (e.g. GA4, simple data extracts, dashboards) to analyse usage, impact and edge cases.
- Support definition of data requirements (events, fields, IDs, mappings) for digital features and integrations.
- Contribute to basic data models, mapping tables and tracking specs.
- Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Communicate clearly with product, operations, QA, data, engineering and vendor teams at the appropriate level of detail.
- Capture, refine and confirm stakeholder needs, highlighting trade-offs and constraints.
- Maintain stakeholder lists and contacts in relevant Confluence artefacts.
- Meetings & Workshops
- Help design and prepare effective workshops and working sessions (agendas, objectives, pre-reads, templates).
- Facilitate or co-facilitate sections of meetings, capturing decisions, actions and outcomes.
- Share best practice formats and templates with peers.
- Delivery Governance & Ways of Working
- Provide input to F1 Digital delivery governance processes (e.g. scope reviews, change approvals, readiness checks).
- Ensure requirements and documentation support decision-making in governance forums.
- Align work to agreed delivery cadences and ways of working (sprints, milestones, cut-offs).
- QA, UAT & Readiness Support
- Write clear, testable acceptance criteria that distinguish QA vs UAT outcomes.
- Support QA and UAT planning by ensuring traceability from requirements to tests and defects (Jira, Testmo).
- Participate in UAT sessions where relevant, confirming coverage of key scenarios and capturing feedback.
- Vendor & Partner Collaboration
- Support vendor identification and selection by contributing to RFIs/RFPs and documenting requirements and evaluation criteria.
- Maintain a clear view of partner responsibilities and dependencies in Confluence and Jira.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Delivery colleagues as directed.
- Workload & Time Management
- Manage multiple tasks across projects and products, based on agreed priorities.
- Timebox analysis activities to avoid context switching and communicate early if workload becomes unmanageable.
- Seek guidance on prioritisation when needed and proactively update Jira status and Confluence pages to reflect progress.
