Quality Engineer-Technical Assistance (EPMC)

Employment Type: Full-Time, on-site

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday- 07.00am-15.00pm with possible shift rotation

Pay Rate: £31.00 per hour Inside/ Outside IR35

We are expanding our Supplier Parts Quality capability and require a high-calibre Engineer to lead technical supplier support within an EPMC environment. This is a hands-on, high-impact role focused on protecting production, driving containment, and eliminating repeat quality issues at source.

If you are technically sharp, operationally decisive, and comfortable holding suppliers to account, this role provides real ownership and visibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide structured Supplier Technical Assistance, ensuring purchased components meet required standards for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Bridge production, engineering, and supply base, driving permanent corrective actions and improving supplier capability.
  • Operate both reactively (issue resolution) and proactively (risk mitigation, process audits).
  • Validate corrective actions through on-site audits and data analysis.
  • Coordinate sorting, rework, and deviation management when required.
  • Identify systemic risks and drive capability improvement plans.
  • Support cost avoidance initiatives linked to quality failures.

Qualifications:

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in Supplier Quality or Manufacturing Engineering within automotive or complex manufacturing.
  • Strong working knowledge of 8D methodology, Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, Ishikawa), PFMEA / DFMEA, Control Plans, SPC & Capability Studies (Cp/Cpk).
  • Experience within BIW, powertrain, chassis, trim or electronics supply chain.
