We are seeking an experienced Level 3 Vehicle Technician to join our established automotive workshop. The role involves carrying out a wide range of service, maintenance, diagnostic, and repair work on modern vehicles, including petrol, diesel, and light commercial vehicles. The successful candidate will be confident working with both mechanical and electronic vehicle systems and capable of diagnosing faults accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled servicing in line with manufacturer service schedules
- Perform mechanical repairs including brakes, suspension, steering, exhausts, timing belts/chains, clutches, and engine components
- Diagnose and rectify faults across engine management, ABS, airbag (SRS), traction control, and electronic stability systems
- Identify and repair electrical faults including wiring, sensors, actuators, batteries, charging systems, and starter motors
- Use manufacturer-level and aftermarket diagnostic equipment to interrogate vehicle ECUs, read fault codes, live data, and carry out system tests
- Carry out fault-finding using wiring diagrams, technical data, and guided diagnostics
- Reset service indicators and perform ECU coding/adaptations where required
- Carry out pre-MOT inspections, fault rectification, and MOT failure repairs
- Conduct road tests before and after repairs to ensure issues are fully resolved
- Ensure all repairs meet safety, quality, and compliance standards
- Accurately document diagnostic findings, repair work completed, and parts used
