My client are a leading software consultancy focused on modern software engineering best practice. They’re UK based, with a large network of consultants spanning 5 continents and are regularly voted as one of the best places to work in the UK. They’re looking to hire a Mulesoft Consultant on a contract basis (Outside IR35) to help advise on an Integration project for a major client of theirs (Public Sector). The role is hybrid, but predominantly wfh. It’s envisaged that only occasional time is likely to be needed working on site (perhaps 3 days per month +/-), but this is likely to be determined by you. Whilst this job is posted as being based in London, meetings could be at any site across England, depending on personal needed / logistics. We’re looking for a Mulesoft specialist, to independently advise on this major project. Whilst suitable candidates are likely to come from an engineering background, this is a high level advisory / consultant role and as such suitable candidates should have been working at this level for some time. Role: Review existing in-house system API patterns to identify the effort required to integrate them with (or migrate them to) Mulesoft (these patterns are already documented and there will be an architect to support this effort) Consider other specific requirements such as authentication, discoverability, domain APIs, encryption, antivirus etc. from a compatibility point of view. Compare and contrast the existing bespoke Integration Hub and advise effort required to achieve a similar functionality using Mulesoft. Consider existing approval practices to consume an API, and advise effort required to achieve a similar functionality using Mulesoft. If possible, advise on the cost of running Mulesoft, including the aspects that are not initially visibile. Potential challenges in integrating Mulesoft into the wider estate, particularly in relation to on-prem systems and systems that don’t use conventional API integration, e.g. JMS queues. An assessment of the differences in planning and effort required for governance and maintenance of both the existing solution versus Mulesoft. Skills & Exp: Should have significant experience in terms of integrating Mulesoft into an existing IT landscape. Strong consulting skills – we’re looking for someone from an engineering background who can collaborate with DevOps Engineers and Developers working This is a great opportunity to work alongside some of the best in the business on a major transformation project. The project is expected to be for an initial 3 months, but expected to extend to 6. Day rate is open – depending on level of expertise you can bring to the table. And to be considered, candidates must have a UK based Limited company and be able to start this project by early January at the latest. Apply here or to mat@formatdtr.com
