A Pharmacy Assistant at Forma Graphics (George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust) is required for 37.5 hours per week with rotational weekend, late night and bank holiday shifts. This is a permanent position, available as full-time or part-time, with a salary of £24,465 per annum.
Location: George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust, College Street, Nuneaton, CV10 7DJ.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 5:30 pm (1‑hour lunch)
- Rotational Saturdays & Sundays (incl. bank holidays): 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (30‑minute lunch)
- Late‑night rota: 1 night per week (details on application)
Shift Patterns Available:
- Full‑time: 37.5 hrs (Mon‑Fri 9am‑5:30pm)
- Part‑time: 30 hrs (Tue‑Fri 9am‑5:30pm)
- Part‑time: 22.5 hrs (Mon‑Wed 9am‑5:30pm)
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and pick pharmaceutical stock in the ward stock distribution area, conduct pharmacy top‑up services, and deliver medication to and from wards on an ad‑hoc basis using the pharmacy robot and WellSky computer system.
- Maintain a clean and tidy environment.
- Receive and sign all goods arriving at the pharmacy, check against delivery notes and orders, and record details accurately in the pharmacy computer system to ensure proper audit trail.
- Identify delivery problems, determine corrective actions, and resolve issues following standard operating procedures.
Eligibility & Training:
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent such as NPA Dispensary Assistants Course) required.
- Training and enrolment onto NVQ Level 2 apprenticeship considered for suitable candidates.
Qualifications & Professional Training:
- Work towards completion of NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (essential).
- Pharmacy‑related NVQ 2 modules (desirable).
Person Specification:
- Essential: Similar job experience, ability to read & comprehend written instructions, work on own initiative and under SOPs, take instructions from senior staff, recognise own limitations, effective verbal communication, mature and professional approach, well‑mannered and friendly, flexible.
- Desirable: Experience in pharmacy / hospital pharmacy, experience of working as part of a team, basic computer skills.
