Responsibilities- Monitoring of wards and departmental areas to ensure compliance with the National Standards of Cleanliness for Healthcare environments, using an electronic auditing system.
- Produce an action plan for nursing, estate and domestic staff with any shortfalls in cleaning standards, with appropriate targets highlighted.
- Raise any maintenance, nursing or equipment issues with relevant departments.
- Spot checks to ensure cleanliness issues have been rectified within the agreed timeframe.
- Update the results spreadsheet to the Hotel Services Manager on a weekly basis.
- Participation in quarterly and annual stock take of staff uniforms.
- Monitor the contracted linen supplier to ensure compliance with specification.
- Participate in the auditing of patient food delivery service, including quality, temperature and taste testing.
- Compile the programme of audits for the Hotel Services Manager responsible for overseeing catering.
- Report any breach in standards promptly to your line manager and liaise with catering staff to advise, resolve and rectify any shortfalls.
- Perform other work streams within the Hotel Services Department as required.
- Produce all audit results in a timely manner, answer telephones and take messages when appropriate.
- Participate in the Patient Led Assessments for the Care Environment (PLACE) annual programme and other government-led initiatives.
- Assist with processing invoices for all sections under Hotel Services Department.
- Conduct competency training of new starters in catering, ward host and cleaning functions.
