About the role

EvaEsi is a whole new model line, built on the research from Forlais. It is a significant launch, and you can help shape it. You will run billing and usage metering across the platform, covering subscriptions, usage tracking and the developer API. Billing has to be right every time, for the customer and for us, and making sure it is will be your job.

Qualifications:

  • Treat billing correctness as a serious engineering discipline, not plumbing.
  • Have built or run payment, metering or ledger systems in production.
  • Think in invariants and failure modes.
  • Bring an open mind and genuine readiness for a learning curve.
  • Are results oriented and comfortable taking responsibility for outcomes.
  • Are willing to adapt and try new ideas.

Nice to have:

  • Stripe or comparable payment platforms, including webhooks, disputes and reconciliation.
  • Transactional design in Postgres.
  • Rust or another systems language.
  • Usage-based or credit-based pricing systems.

Process:

Each application is reviewed directly. Expect one or more conversations covering judgement, technical or craft depth, and the responsibility the role carries. EvaEsi does not publish salary ranges in public material; compensation is discussed individually during the process.

What you will do:

  • Run billing and usage metering across EvaEsi's subscription and API surfaces.
  • Design and implement correctness around retries, races, partial failures and disconnects.
  • Work with Stripe or comparable payment systems, webhooks and reconciliation.
  • Build the ledger and metering paths customers and the company can trust.
  • Work with platform, finance and compliance before real money flows at scale.
