Join the Team at Forklift Hire and Sales Ltd. Due to continued growth, Forklift Hire and Sales Ltd is looking to recruit two Field Service Engineers to join our expanding engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, family-run company that provides forklift hire, sales, servicing, repairs, LOLER inspections, and material handling solutions to customers across the UK.

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment at customer sites. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
  • Attending customer breakdowns and providing effective solutions.
  • Completing job sheets and service reports using company PDA/iPad systems.
  • Ordering and fitting parts when required.
  • Managing and maintaining van stock levels.
  • Delivering excellent customer service and technical support.
  • Representing Forklift Hire and Sales Ltd professionally at all times.

About You

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for engineering. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Mechanical engineering experience.
  • Experience diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage their own workload.
  • A smart, professional appearance.
  • Good timekeeping and reliability.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Previous experience working on forklifts, plant machinery, agricultural equipment, HGVs, or similar machinery would be advantageous but is not essential for the right candidate.
