As part of our Income Maximisation team, you’ll deliver a high-quality income maximisation service to tenants. You’ll take recovery action, represent at court, negotiate repayments, and offer advice and assistance.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing tenant-focussed rent and other debt collection services.
  • Managing a caseload of accounts, working with tenants to maximise their income and manage their budgets effectively.
  • Carrying out visits to tenants’ homes.
  • Liaising with third parties including the housing benefits department and DWP.
  • Supporting tenants to repay debts, negotiating payment in full or in affordable and reasonable instalments.
  • Referring tenants to relevant external agencies such as welfare rights and debt advice organisations.
  • Collaborating with Sheltered Housing Scheme Wardens regarding payment of debts.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in housing, ideally in a rents team.
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits, and the rent collection process.
  • Driving licence and use of a vehicle required for work purposes.
  • Availability to start work immediately.
