I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established food manufacturer that's looking to strengthen its engineering team with the addition of a Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) on a permanent night shift. The site operates 24/7 and the night engineering team plays a critical role in ensuring production continues to run safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on position where you'll be responsible for responding to equipment breakdowns, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, and identifying opportunities to improve plant reliability.
Working across a range of automated production and packaging machinery, you'll use your electrical fault-finding skills to diagnose issues quickly and minimise downtime. You'll also support continuous improvement initiatives, contribute to root cause analysis, and work closely with production to prevent recurring faults rather than simply applying short-term fixes.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a business that continues to invest heavily in its people, equipment, and manufacturing processes, offering long-term stability and ongoing training.
What they're looking for:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, or a completed engineering apprenticeship
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills gained within a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment, with the ability to fault find (programming experience is advantageous but not essential)
- A proactive approach to maintenance, problem solving, and continuous improvement
- Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG is desirable, although engineers from other fast-paced production environments are encouraged to apply
If you're looking for a permanent night shift role where you'll be trusted to make an impact and join a business that's committed to engineering excellence, I'd love to hear from you. Apply today with your CV, and I'll aim to respond within 24 hours.
