Main Purpose Of Job
The post holder is required to work across all Front-End operations functions including saws, forge and tooling. The individual must be able to respond quickly to the needs of the business and embrace change through team working, effective housekeeping, flexibility and continuous improvement.
Key Tasks And Accountabilities
- To perform the Front-End Operations as required across the Open die forging, Closed die forging, Rings forging, Forge press, hydraulic press, saws and tooling.
- Work to the agreed Standard Operating Procedures – Methods of Manufacture as outlined in the quality manual.
- Practice and Enforce a high standard of Health and Safety at all times and ensure that the plant is operated safely.
- Ensure that training/coaching is delivered to all new operators and that they are fully conversant with front end operations.
- Maintain housekeeping of the area to a high standard and embrace the 5S Programme on a daily basis.
- Ensure all equipment is run efficiently and effectively to meet production requirements, whether in billet or part form.
- To ensure all Work Safe instructions and Operating procedures are followed at all times.
- Responsible including loading and unloading of the saws and reporting breakdowns to the relevant department.
- Ensure all paperwork/route cards in relation to the department is correctly compiled, stamped and booked off in accordance with procedures.
- Ensure that furnace loading charts and inspection sheets are correctly completed when operating that task and ensure the furnace chart is marked with reference to time of start and finish of each job.
- Redeployment to alternative work if required.
- Maintain the daily TPM programme and equipment pre-use check.
- Any other adhoc duties as required.
