Main Purpose of the Role
Machining radius and pre- form onto billets to specified drawings, the Cell consists of 2 x CNC machines that need to be run in parallel. It is a fast-moving operation which receives material from our Saw department and delivers to the Forge (It is vital to have good communication with both departments to plan workload and optimise utilisation of the cell). The position will occasionally require the applicant to flexible across both Radius and Pre-Heat cells to meet customer requirements.

The position will occasionally require the applicant to flexible across both Radius and Pre-Heat cells to meet customer requirements.
Key Tasks And Accountabilities
- H&S – Work in a safe and responsible (For own and other people’s safety).
- Conduct any pre-shift H&S checks as specified; for example: Hoist Crane.
- Maintain a high standard of workplace housekeeping (5s Duties)
- Ensure ALL Quality procedures and processes are followed.
- Planning of work to best utilise machines.
- Machine parts to drawing.
- Booking out of work and work time against jobs.
- Use measuring equipment (Micrometers, Vernier, Wall Thickness Meter, Surface Roughness gauge).
- Material Movements.
- To be cross trained in other Front-End Postions.
- Any other ad-hoc duties as required.
The Applicant
Essential
- Machining working under +/-.05mm.
- CNC Turning Experience.
- Understanding Fanuc CNC Controls.
- Attention to details.
- Read and understand drawings.
- Competent in basic IT Skills.
- Experience with machining bar/billets.
Desirable
- Apprentice Trained – Mechanical Manufacturing or equivalent.
- Manual Milling/Turning Experience.
- Overhead Crane Training.
- FLT Training.
- Abrasive Wheel Training.
