Elevation Recruitment Group are excited to be exclusively partnered with Forged Solutions Group, a well established manufacturing business at their Darley Dale site, who are looking to appoint a Manufacturing Manager to take ownership of Production and Manufacturing Engineering across the site.
This is a genuine leadership role.
The Manufacturing Manager sits on the Darley Dale Leadership Team, reporting to the Plant Manager, and carries real influence over how the site performs day to day and where it goes strategically.
It is not just about hitting numbers.
Forged Solutions Group expect the successful Manufacturing Manager to build a high performing team, champion site safety through SQCDP methodology, and embed the company values of Quality, Integrity, Commitment and Collaboration into how the operation runs.
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 5.00pm, Friday 8.30am to 1.30pm, 37 hours per week
Duties of the Manufacturing Manager will include
- Maintaining an effective EHS culture across the site
- Driving Operational Excellence through SQCDP methodology
- Championing Visual Factory standards
- Supporting Wellbeing and Engagement initiatives
- Meeting operational KPIs
- Identifying and driving continuous improvement in performance
- Setting up systems to measure operational management and development
- Leading and building a high performing operations team
- Succession planning for business continuity
- Coaching the team through performance development plans
- Using skills matrices to develop team capability
- Working cross functionally with EHS, Quality, Supply Chain and Engineering
- Supporting the site's capital expenditure process
- Managing inventory levels, including stock take
- Owning quarterly business plans in line with the wider strategy
- Reviewing and reacting to business plans as priorities shift
Requirements of the Manufacturing Manager
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline is preferred
- Previous senior operational management experience
- Evidence of defining and delivering an operational strategy
- Track record of building effective teams and implementing business improvement processes
- Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills
- Proven, inspirational leadership with high emotional intelligence
- Professional, positive and hands on approach with strong work ethic
- Able to work under pressure and deliver to defined deadlines
- A logical, analytical and continuous improvement mindset
This role is commutable from: Matlock, Bakewell, Chesterfield, Buxton, Ashbourne, Belper, Ripley and Sheffield.
Suited candidates previously hold roles such as: Operations Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Site Manager, Plant Manager, Head of Operations, Engineering Manager and Operations Team Leader.
