Main Purpose of Job
To provide Quality Engineering and systems support for Operations and Quality/Technical departments by ensuring that products and processes are maintained in line with business and customer requirements. Has the ability to respond to the needs of the business and embrace change. Heavily involved in Teamwork and Continuous Improvement.
Key Tasks And Accountabilities
- Investigate and resolve customer returns and complaints.
- Required to develop a strong process-based knowledge.
- Assist with investigation and resolution of external non-conformances and report sub-contract quality performance via scorecard process.
- Represent Quality Team at Supplier/Customer external meetings.
- Implement and monitor robust actions using formal problem solving methodologies.
- Use of internal non-conformance database to analyse trends and liaise with the continuous improvement team to implement improvement activities.
- Participate in multi-discipline teams to address issues aligned to the achievement of Company objectives.
- Participate in and support product and process continuous improvement activities based on a range of tools and techniques.
- Carry out inspection quality control activities involved in delivering continuous improvement in product quality and business objectives.
- Direct involvement in the application of inspection tools, techniques and systems.
- Communicate quality statistics and improvement activities.
- Preparation of concession requests.
- Perform internal and external audits of our business and sub-contract base.
- Support the establishment of the necessary Quality Management Systems, to ensure the business unit performance and product and process quality improvement.
- Prepare internal and customer quality reports as required.
- Compile and maintain higher level quality documents as required.
- Operate within the company standards relating to Security, Quality, Environment, Health and Safety.

- Departmental KPI control (Scrap/Rework/Quarantine).

Experience/Qualifications
- Have an academic qualification or relevant experience in quality/manufacturing.
- Experience of working with lean six sigma, or equivalent (with evidence).
- Experience of Quality Management Systems and related International Standards would be a benefit.
- Experience of Aerospace manufacturing would be a benefit.
- Worked in a Quality position within a manufacturing environment.
- Have experience of manufacturing processes and/or metals industry.
- Have experience of ISO 9001 / AS 9100.
- Have experience of APQP / NPI / PPAP / FAIR.
- Have auditing experience (Lead Auditor Trained would be a benefit).
