A Manual Universal Grinder operator is required for a small company in Birmingham. Working days are flexible with the hours/times worked throughout the day. Looking for someone who is seeking a permanent job after a trial, so commitment is required. Rate of pay depends on your experience and will pay up to £18ph for immediate starts.
This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining manual grinding machines to produce precision parts according to blueprints and specifications. Key responsibilities include:
- Machine Operation: Set up and operate manual universal grinders.
- Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications to determine grinding requirements.
- Tooling Selection: Select and dress grinding wheels and tooling according to specifications and workpiece material.
- Precision Measurement: Use micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, and other precision instruments to inspect finished components and ensure they meet tight tolerances.
- Quality Control: Perform in-process inspection, quality checks, and document results in accordance with company standards.
- Machine Maintenance: Maintain machine cleanliness and ensure proper operation and maintenance of grinding wheels and tools.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to grinding operations, including wheel dressing and machine setup.
