We are working with a large established Freight Forwarder who is looking to recruit an Export Aerospace Air Operator on a 4 on/4 off day shift. Salary up to £33K + Shift Allowance of up to £3K.
Our client is seeking candidates with:
- At least 2 years of Air Export experience
- Advantageous experience in AOG/Aerospace/Time-Critical sectors
Key Activities:
- Adhere to Customs Compliance procedures and documentation
- Manage and build customer relationships
- Complete retrospective customs compliance actions
- Handle customs entries for specialist license movements
- Ensure the job file is fully and accurately completed, reflecting all relevant information and services provided
- Liaise with carriers, handling agents, departments, transport, warehouse teams, and overseas offices to resolve issues and coordinate shipments
- Maintain and update compliance and milestones through CargoWise (internal system)
- Manage allocated customers according to SOPs
- Create and manage airfreight shipments in CargoWise
- Update internal complaint tools with root cause and solutions
- Support KPI measurement and participate in weekly team briefings
- Complete statutory and mandatory training
- Perform any other duties as required
Skills and Experience:
- Experience within the freight forwarding industry
- Minimum 2 years of air export knowledge
- 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C or above, or equivalent (desirable)
- Experience with HMRC procedures
- Knowledge of AOG/Aerospace/Time Critical sectors (advantageous)
- Commercial awareness
- Clear and concise communication skills (written and spoken)
- Ability to follow processes and support continuous improvement
- Interpersonal skills such as influencing, relationship management, and cultural awareness
- Ability to work across teams
HOURS: 07:00-19:00, 4 on / 4 off day shift.
