We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant at Level 3 to join our hardworking and supportive SEND Department. We have vacancies both within our Integrated Resource Team and our Support for Learning Team. We are an inclusive school who always work hard to make our practice as good as it possibly can be for all the pupils.
We have an Integrated Resource here at Forge Valley School which provides support for pupils with Autism/communication difficulties. The pupils are taught in mainstream lessons with enhanced T.A support. We also have a Support for Learning Team which provides support for mainstream pupils with a range of SEND.
This role is to work as part of a team of Teaching Assistants, and alongside subject teachers, to assist with the teaching and support of children with either an Integrated Resource place or a mainstream place. The role also involves delivering interventions to develop academic, social communication and emotional regulation skills. The children with whom you would be working will have a range of SEND. You will be required to understand and support children facing these barriers.
Responsibilities:- Work effectively with subject teachers in lessons to enable pupils to access learning and make good progress.
- Deliver high quality interventions for both small groups and individuals.
- Develop positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff showing care, patience, empathy and encouragement.
- Have good Numeracy and Literacy Skills.
- Have experience working with young people with social communication needs and other SEND.
- Have an ability to work using their own initiative.
- Have a positive and resilient mindset.
- Have the skills to maintain effective relationships and work well as a team.
- Have a high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
- Be flexible and able to adapt to changing situations and learn new skills.
- A commitment to ensuring the safety of our pupils.
