Forge Talent is partnering with a growing owner-managed services business to appoint a commercially aware Finance Manager to support the next phase of its expansion. This is a broad, newly created and hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of delivering high-quality financial reporting, while providing clear insight to support decision-making across the organisation. Alongside core reporting responsibilities, you’ll play a key role in strengthening controls, improving processes, and helping to shape a scalable finance function. Reporting to the Finance Director.
Key responsibilities include:
- Production of monthly management accounts across the group, including full P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting, with clear variance analysis and commentary.
- Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of any issues.
- Oversight of day-to-day finance operations, including purchase ledger, sales ledger and payroll.
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles, partnering with operational stakeholders.
- Responsibility for HMRC submissions and ongoing compliance requirements.
- Identifying opportunities to drive cost efficiencies and improve financial performance.
- Reviewing and enhancing existing systems, processes and internal controls.
- Leading the year-end process and managing relationships with external auditors and advisors.
About you:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience operating in a hands-on finance role within a fast-paced or growing environment.
- Strong technical grounding with the ability to apply this commercially.
- Experience in multi-site & multi-entity businesses is beneficial but not essential.
- Comfortable stepping outside of finance to support decision making where possible.
