Finance Business Partner | 6-Month FTC | Stockport | Up to Β£70,000
A growing consumer products business is entering an exciting phase of transformation and international expansion. As part of this journey, a key member of the commercial finance team is being seconded onto a strategic European growth project, creating an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Finance Business Partner to take ownership of the UK commercial finance agenda for a six-month period. This is a highly visible role, partnering closely with commercial leadership and influencing key decisions that drive revenue, margin, and profitability.
Reporting into the Finance Director, you will act as the lead Finance Business Partner for the UK division, providing robust financial insight, forecasting, budgeting, and commercial challenge. You'll support a significant retail customer relationship while helping senior stakeholders understand performance, evaluate opportunities, and make better commercial decisions.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys getting into the detail, challenging assumptions, and translating complex data into clear commercial insight. The environment is fast-paced and evolving, so you'll need to be comfortable working with imperfect systems and fragmented data whilst still delivering accurate, value-adding analysis.
Responsibilities
- Partner with commercial leadership to provide insight, challenge and financial support across revenue, margin and profitability performance.
- Lead performance analysis including volume, price, mix, range and cost drivers, producing meaningful commentary and recommendations.
- Own forecasting, budgeting and long-range planning activities for the UK commercial operation.
- Provide decision support around pricing strategy, promotional investment, rebates and commercial initiatives.
- Produce and enhance trade reporting, board-level reporting packs and commercial performance analysis for senior stakeholders.
About You
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with proven Commercial Finance Business Partnering experience.
- Strong commercial finance capability across forecasting, budgeting, performance analysis and decision support.
- Experience within FMCG, consumer products or retail environments would be highly advantageous.
- Comfortable analysing large, fragmented datasets and building meaningful commercial insights from imperfect information.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior non-finance stakeholders and challenge constructively.
This assignment offers the opportunity to step into a critical commercial finance position during an important period of change. You'll gain significant exposure to senior stakeholders, take ownership of the UK commercial planning cycle, and play a key role in supporting a business that continues to invest in growth across both domestic and international markets.
