Forge Talent are supporting a Nationally Leading business with a requirement for an Accounts Payable Senior, to support and oversee a Team of 5 Clerks. This is an excellent time to join the Accounts Payable Team as the business progresses through an exciting period of further growth and development.

An ideal opportunity for an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, who has had end to end experience of the Payables process, within a larger business environment. You will ideally demonstrate proven results in process improvements with the ability to mentor and guide team members. Previous experience in a Supervisory/ Team Leadership capacity is highly advantageous.
Accounts Payable Senior Responsibilities:
- Process and review a high volume of invoices, using the 3 way matching technique, always ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Proactively responding to any supplier queries to reach a prompt and effective resolution, adapting a 'right first-time' approach.
- Prepare and process daily, weekly and monthly supplier payment runs within agreed terms.
- Reconcile supplier statements, investigating and chasing outstanding invoices as required.
- Assist with month-end closing, accruals, and reporting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Support and mentor the wider Accounts Payable Team, highlighting and addressing training needs as required.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and support continual developments.
- Be first point of contact for the team, managing escalations and ensuring best practice.
- Delegate team work flow.
- Support business critical projects.
- Develop and drive efficiencies within the AP team.
Senior Accounts Payable Clerk Required Experience:
- Previous experience in an end-to-end Accounts Payable position, working in a senior or supervisory capacity.
- Previous experience of working in a larger business environment with exposure to management of a high volume workload.
- A high degree of attention to detail, maintaining accuracy at pace.
- Problem-solving and query resolution abilities.
- A deep understanding of Accounts Payable processes and best practice to ensure and enhance department efficiencies.
- Excellent communication, relationship building and team working skills.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks inline with the needs of the business.
- Strong Excel and computerised systems skills, with the ability to effectively manipulate data for reporting purposes.
- The ability to support business critical projects, adding value and insight.
- Committed to continual improvements with a desire to progress in an Accounts Payable career path.
