It’s well suited to an ACA / ACCA qualified accountant, ideally from practice or recently moved into industry, who enjoys being hands-on while helping to raise the technical standard of a growing finance team.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of the organisation’s financial reporting framework, ensuring high-quality, compliant reporting while helping strengthen controls and processes as the business scales. This is not a box-ticking role; you’ll be trusted to apply judgement, challenge where needed, and work closely with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of statutory accounts in line with relevant accounting standards (IFRS preferred)
- Own technical accounting matters, including drafting papers and advising on complex transactions
- Manage corporation tax, VAT and deferred tax, working with external advisors
- Act as a key contact for external auditors and lead the year-end audit process
- Ensure balance sheet integrity, reconciliations and robust financial controls
- Drive continuous improvement across reporting processes and systems
- Support and mentor junior members of the finance team
- Work closely with the Head of Finance as part of a long-term succession plan
About You
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong technical accounting background with IFRS exposure
- Recently from practice or not long out, with solid statutory reporting and tax experience
- Confident across audit, controls and balance sheet ownership
- Able to explain technical matters clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable operating in a growing, evolving business
Why This Role?
- Join a high-quality, purpose-driven organisation making a real impact
