Finance Manager in London

We’re working with a growing, multi-division SME to appoint a Finance Manager to a key leadership role within the finance function.
This is a hands‑on position with real breadth leading day‑to‑day finance operations, owning multi‑division reporting, and acting as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders. You’ll sit just below the Finance Director and play a critical role in driving financial control, insight, and performance across the group.
The Role Own the day‑to‑day finance function across multiple divisions, ensuring accurate, timely management accounts, consolidated reporting, and strong financial control
Take a hands‑on role in improving month‑end, reporting processes, and systems, reducing manual effort and making the finance function run smoothly and efficiently
Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and KPI reporting, providing clear insight into performance, trends, risks, and opportunities
Act as a commercial partner to divisional leaders, challenging cost bases, supporting pricing and investment decisions, and driving financial discipline
Manage group and divisional cash flow and working capital, ensuring strong visibility and control in a cash‑generative environment
Lead, develop, and support the finance team, overseeing transactional finance while raising standards across reporting and business partnering
Maintain robust controls, intercompany processes, and statutory compliance, supporting year‑end and audit activity
Continuously look for ways to add value through better data, improved processes, and smarter use of systems and automation
About You Strong experience in an SME Finance Manager or Financial Controller role
Track record of multi‑division or multi‑entity reporting
Strong Excel and financial systems capability
Commercially astute with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders
Experience in a growing or PE‑backed SME
Exposure to system or reporting standardisation / implementation
Personal Attributes Hands‑on, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast‑paced SME environment
Confident communicator who can both support and challenge
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Proactive, ownership‑led, and improvement‑focused
