Job Title: Legal Cashier – Experienced Professional

Location: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days remote)

Hours: Full-time, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, 1-hour lunch

Salary: Up to £30k depending on experience

About the Role

Forge Talent is working exclusively with a growing legal firm seeking an experienced Legal Cashier. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for managing the firm’s financial operations while ensuring compliance with legal accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing client and office ledgers accurately
  • Processing receipts, payments, and disbursements
  • Handling billing, invoices, and fee allocation
  • Conducting bank reconciliations and managing client account balances
  • Ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SARs) and internal policies
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and cash flow reports
  • Liaising with clients, solicitors, and other departments regarding financial queries
  • Monitoring and tracking trust account funds
  • Supporting audits and end-of-year financial reporting

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a legal cashier or similar finance role (3+ years preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of legal accounting procedures and SARs
  • Confident in billing, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proactive, with a “get up and go” attitude
  • Team player who can contribute new ideas and process improvements
  • Available to work in-office for the first 2–4 weeks to learn internal systems and processes
