Financial Director

This is an opportunity to join a cash-rich organisation with ambitious expansion plans, including US market entry and significant CAPEX investment across its infrastructure and sites.

Working closely with the Managing Director, you will operate as a true strategic and commercial partner, helping to shape and deliver the company’s long-term growth strategy. This role sits firmly at board level and is focused on strategy and commercial impact rather than day-to-day finance operations.

You’ll lead a highly capable finance team who manage all BAU activities, giving you the freedom to focus on major strategic initiatives and business growth. This is an outstanding opportunity for a high-calibre Finance Director who wants to play a pivotal role in scaling a business and driving its next phase of success.

The Role

• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring operational excellence while you focus on strategic priorities
• Act as the No.1 in Finance, working closely with the MD and Board
• Lead financial strategy for US expansion projects
• Drive and oversee major CAPEX investments across sites and infrastructure
• Shape commercial strategies relating to growth, profitability, ROI and market expansion
• Use financial insight, systems and data to drive performance and informed decision making
• Challenge and influence senior stakeholders and commercial teams
• Develop and manage exchange rate strategies within a wholesale import/export environment
• Approve and monitor capital expenditure programmes
• Manage relationships with external advisors including lawyers, property advisors, pension trustees, insurers and local authorities

About You

• Proven experience operating as No.1 in Finance within a growing business
• Track record as a strategic partner to a Managing Director or CEO
• Strong commercial and strategic finance leadership experience
• Essential experience within a stock-based environment (wholesale import/export)
