Location: North Manchester
Forge Talent is recruiting for a Finance Manager role within a fast-growing, dynamic retail business, but this isn’t just about crunching numbers. As Finance Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all overhead functions across the business, driving accurate reporting, compliance, and strong financial governance. You’ll manage and develop a small team while working closely with senior leadership as a trusted partner to influence decision-making and continuous improvement. As Finance Manager, you’ll take ownership of all overhead functions across the business, ensuring robust financial oversight, compliance, and reporting. You’ll lead and develop a small team, while acting as a trusted partner to senior management to add value.
We are looking for a proactive person who will drive standards and challenge not only the team but the business going forward.
Responsibilities
- Leading the production of accurate and timely management accounts (P&L and balance sheet) with clear commentary and insights.
- Managing, coaching, and developing a team of 2 management accountants, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Taking full ownership of overhead reporting, cost allocation, and variance analysis.
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Partnering with stakeholders across the business to provide analysis, recommendations, and commercial insight.
- Supporting both internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
- Driving process improvements, streamlining reporting, and embedding stronger controls.
- Playing a key role in integrating future acquisitions into Microsoft Dynamics 365.
What We’re Looking For
- Ideally qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
- Track record of managing and developing a team.
- Experience in cost transformation or driving efficiency initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across the business.
