Forge Talent are exclusively partnering with a highly ambitious, US owned business at a pivotal point in its growth journey to recruit a Group Financial Controller based in South Manchester. The role will be looking to start asap and will initially be for 3-6 months.
The Group Financial Controller will lead the finance function across financial reporting and operational finance, with overall responsibility for statutory reporting, compliance and the effectiveness of core finance operations. The role ensures accurate, timely consolidated financial statements while building scalable, well-controlled processes that support growth. Working closely with senior leadership, the role provides technical expertise, commercial insight and drives continuous improvement across systems, processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities- Proven experience managing multi-entity, multi-country structures including Europe and US.
- Lead the month-end close across operational and reporting ledgers, ensuring accurate balance sheet and P&L reporting in line with accounting standards.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany settlements, cash flow and working capital management.
- Preparation and oversight of statutory accounts.
- Manage relationships with senior leadership and key external partners.
- Define and monitor KPIs to track the performance of transactional processes and reporting outputs.
- Lead finance transformation initiatives, including system implementations, automation and digitisation.
- Set clear expectations around quality, timeliness and ownership, fostering a strong delivery culture.
- Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring and structured development.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified and experience operating at Group Finance Director, Head of Reporting or senior finance leadership level.
- Experience in large private organisations with strong controls, demanding reporting timetables and complex tax requirements.
