This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing, ambitious business at an important stage of its development. The business has strong backing, ambitious growth plans and a leadership team focused on building a high-performing organisation for the long term.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you'll have a broad remit across finance and the wider business. This is a hands-on Finance Manager position where you'll have genuine ownership, influence and the opportunity to contribute to key commercial decisions as the business continues to grow.
The role offers considerably more exposure than a traditional Finance Manager position. Alongside owning core financial reporting, you'll be involved in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, commercial analysis, business performance and strategic projects, giving you the opportunity to develop into a senior finance leader as the business scales.
It's particularly well suited to an ambitious qualified or finalist ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant who wants to take ownership of a finance function, broaden their commercial experience and work in an environment where they can make a visible impact.
With continued investment and significant growth plans, there is genuine scope for progression for someone who demonstrates the ambition, capability and commercial mindset to grow with the business.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of a broad finance remit and play a key role in supporting both the day-to-day operation and future growth of the business. Responsibilities will include:
- Ownership of the month-end process and preparation of monthly management accounts
- P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting, including detailed reconciliations
- Providing commercial analysis, variance analysis and KPI reporting to support decision-making
- Supporting the budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning process
- Preparing board packs and financial reporting for senior stakeholders
- Taking responsibility for financial controls, processes and continuous improvement
- Working closely with the Finance Director on cash flow management and working capital
- Supporting investment and other strategic projects as the business grows
- Managing the relationship with auditors and supporting the annual audit process
- Business partnering with operational and senior leadership teams
- Providing financial insight and challenge to help drive business performance
- Taking on increasing responsibility across the finance function as the business scales
About You
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or finalist
- Strong technical accounting and management accounting experience
- Ready to step into a broader Finance Manager position with increased ownership
- Commercially minded with the confidence to challenge and influence
- Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
- Proactive, ambitious and keen to develop their career
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Manufacturing experience would be beneficial but is not essential
The Opportunity
This is a genuine career opportunity rather than simply another Finance Manager position. You'll gain exposure across the wider business and develop your commercial and strategic finance experience alongside an experienced leadership team.
With significant growth plans and clear progression opportunities, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop into a senior finance leadership position as the business continues to scale.
