Forge Talent have partnered with a highly successful retail organisation as they look to recruit a newly created position of a Cash and Banking Specialist into their well established, yet growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail focussed and analytical individual with previous experience of high volume and value bank reconciliations to truly add value. You will take ownership over outgoing cash transactions and ensuring adequate bank balances.
The position will require 3 days onsite in the Manchester office and flexibility in working hours around core hours is available.
Cash and Banking Specialist responsibilities
- Proactively ensure the strict control and governance of all cash and banking transactions, developing processes as required.
- Monitor and maintain multiple bank accounts, ensuring adequate balances are maintained.
- Ensure the authorisation of all outgoing bank transactions ahead of uploading and approving payment files, ensuring timely settlements.
- Provide regular and accurate analysis reporting for banking transactions, fees, and charges to the Senior Finance Team.
- Ensure accurate spend analysis through the completion of weekly bank Statement reconciliations and direct debit and company credit card management
- Take the lead on any reconciliations query management, ensuring a prompt and effective resolution.
- Manage and maintain of payment journals and control accounts.
- Ensure the constant accuracy of the cash outflow forecast, populating as required.
- Process employee expenses, gaining approval as required.
- Proactively support continual improvements and system and process advancements.
- Support both the month and year end close process, ensuring that banking tasks are completed in line with defined deadlines.
- Support with any audit tasks as required.
Cash and Banking Specialist – Required Experience
- Previous experience in a similar reconciliations or cash management position with exposure to multiple bank reconciliations.
- Excellent problem solving and query resolutions abilities with a “right first time” mindset and approach.
- The ability to adapt and add value in a fast growing and changeable environment.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively inline with strict deadlines and business demands.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to manipulate and analyse large volumes of financial data.
- A curious and proactive mentality with the ability to investigate and question as required.
- A positive and proactive approach to the role, with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently to achieve both individual and shared team goals.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong computerised system and Excel skills with a focus upon continuous improvements and advancing efficiencies.
